Stephanie's Restaurant Column
by Stephanie C.

There are lots of great restaurants around PS6. Forget McDonalds and KFC and try some of the various flavors from around the world just right around your corner.

Shake Shack
Location:
154 E 86th Street

Shake Shack is an awesome restaurant for anytime with anyone. Whether it’s hanging out with your older brother or a rainy day with your parents, this Shake Shack is the perfect place to go. Don’t worry about it if you have a special diet or food allergies, there is a vegetarian choice and many other choices.

Xi’an Famous Foods

Location:
328 E 78th Street

A few years ago, a man moved from China to New York  with his son to start a business. He opened a  Chinese restaurant in Flushing. Years later, his son started another restaurant in Manhattan. But this time, instead of a proper sit-in Chinese restaurant, he made a Chinese fast food restaurant. Don’t let the words fast food bother you, the “chinese burgers” and noodles at this restaurant is completely organic and handmade.

Ristoronte Morini

Location:
1167 Madison Avenue

This Italian sit-in restaurant is a really nice restaurant if you are looking for a proper restaurant for a holiday or something important. From spaghetti to risotto, this restaurant is a great place to eat. Always remember to reserve for dinner, this place can get quite full!

Orsay

Location:
1057 Lexington Avenue

Is tonight a night when you are sitting at home with nothing to do? Well,  then it will be a perfect night to go to the Orsay. This French restaurant is clean and nice, with traditional French dishes and flavorful courses. “Have been here many times. Have never been disappointed.” remarked a customer when interviewed.

The Writing Room

Location:
1703 2nd Avenue

This homy American restaurant is not just a place to eat, but for writers, journalists and playwrights, it is also a place to write. Look around the restaurant and see the photos of famous writers who have worked here while you enjoy your meal. The photos can vary from Ernest Hemingway to modern day writers.

If you went to any of the restaurants above, please post a comment below saying which one you went to and the comments you have about it.
