Heart and Soul of a PS6 Custodian
by Allison E., Noa S., and Lucy C.

Picture
We know that the P.S. 6 custodians work so hard to make the school a better place. We wanted to find out more about the work they do so we interviewed Lovell and his boss Suzanne.

First we asked Lovell how he felt about working as a P.S. 6 custodian.

He said, “ it’s a wonderful experience and it still is a good experience working here. I love this school, the staff, the students, and everyone else.’’

We also asked Lovell about his feelings for shoveling the snow. He told us that … well he just laughed.

Then he said “I have to wrap my arm up because it is so sore from shoveling the piles and piles of snow.” He also said that it was such hard work. But then he told us “But its all for the children.” He said this so sweetly!

But what was so shocking was when Suzanne told us that some of the custodians stay at P.S 6 during the night to shovel the piles and piles of snow. This definitely shows that the custodians work so hard to make the students at the school safe!

Lastly we asked him about his feelings for his job. He said ‘’Well, I have to support my family. I have two daughters: one in collage and one in high school. I like this job so I don’t mind coming to work.”

This shows that our P.S 6 custodians work really hard to help our school and to keep it safe! In the future when you see a custodian make sure you thank them for their hard work!
