Sort Your Bins and Colors!
by Gabriella G.
Our school has changed the bins and colors for our recycling and garbage to match the city’s bins. But of course, and I definitely know this, some of us students and teachers will have a hard time adjusting to the new system. So, I wrote a poem, as a reminder of the coordination.
The bins and colors are changing anew,
But listen close for what to do.
Blue bins mark space for Metal and Plastic,
Blue like the water that is so fantastic.
Paper and Cardboard go down the green,
Green bins, Green trees, you know what I mean.
Finally black-brown marks space for trash,
That is so dirty, it’s the color of ash.
So if you remember my little rhyme,
You’ll get your recycling down in no time!
The bins and colors are changing anew,
But listen close for what to do.
Blue bins mark space for Metal and Plastic,
Blue like the water that is so fantastic.
Paper and Cardboard go down the green,
Green bins, Green trees, you know what I mean.
Finally black-brown marks space for trash,
That is so dirty, it’s the color of ash.
So if you remember my little rhyme,
You’ll get your recycling down in no time!
