The Switch

Ms. Rivero is an awesome Spanish teacher! But, she switched from teaching Spanish to teaching 1st grade with Ms. Marder. I talked to Ms. Rivero and got more on the story.
For Ms. Rivero, teaching 1st grade is very different from teaching Spanish in a good way! She gets to see the same class every day so she gets to know them better than she would with many classes each day. Ms. Rivero notices how each of her students react to things like hurt feelings or conflicts.
Ms. Marder is a co-teacher with Ms. Rivero in the classroom! When Ms. Rivero was a Spanish teacher, she didn’t have another teacher to help out in class, except for when an assistant teacher comes. If Ms. Rivero needs help, Ms. Marder can help her out!
Believe it or not, Ms. Rivero chose to be a 1st grade teacher! She had to sign a form at the beginning of the year that said the things she’d like to teach. Ms. Fontana needed a classroom teacher, and Ms. Rivero had already signed up!
Ms. Rivero can be a 1st grade teacher or a Spanish teacher. But no matter what she teaches, we all love her!
