The Importance of Library
by Layla A. and Micaela G.
There are many reasons why library is important. Many parents think that library isn’t important for children to have, however we think that library is one of the most important specials in school.
We interviewed Ms. Bader and she thinks that library is very important for kids to have. Ms.Bader said, “The library is designed to teach kids how to find information. It is a really important skill to have.” Ms. Bader said that you have to know what is quality and what is not. She said that the best quality of the library itself is its large collection of books and that the library exists at all. She would like to thank the parents who donated money to renovate the library.
When we asked Ms. Bader if the library teaches kids, she laughed because it obviously does! Her other reaction was, “I think it does teach kids. It teaches kids to self teach by finding things.” (In this case books.) We also asked Ms. Bader what the benefits of library are. She said, “One of the benefits of library is that kids can check out books on whatever they want and they don’t have to check out a book on their level either.” We agree that it is nice to have a lot of freedom in the library. Ms Bader also says that the library helps teach kids how to self teach because they have to find a lot of information on their own. Furthermore, they have to figure out if the information is good information or not.
When we interviewed some kids, they thought that library was important. To prove this, Isabella Ahn said, “Yeah, of course.” Her twin sister Gabriella Ahn thinks it is. We also really think that library is important because it teaches kids that when they need to do a report, they need to know how to find a library book.
All in all, library is important for many reasons. We think that library is important because it teaches kids skills for life in middle school and the future. We would like library to continue no matter what, and nit will always be a part of us forever when we go off to middle school.
