Discipline
by David P. and Wills F.
Have you ever thought that the class clown deserved a bigger punishment? Well, what if you were in that spot? The whole thing would be a lot simpler if there was one standard punishment. This article is all about punishment, and what kids really deserve. Read on to find out about what some kids think.
Basically, we’re trying to say that even though you might want kids to have to have really severe punishments, it isn’t like you won’t ever get in trouble yourself. In other places like the UK, detention isn’t really that serious – the teachers aren’t that strict about it. Let’s see what some PS6 students think about discipline.
Ethan M. from class 4-327 has an opinion. “I guess we should have detention, but then again, I’ve seen kids in detention, and it doesn’t teach them a good enough lesson. However, that’s when parents come in.” Even though some kids might agree with Ethan, fair amounts have a different opinion, just like Jack H. of class 4-327. “I think detention will be bad because you don’t have enough time for homework, but a suitable punishment would be extra homework. For example, it is a punishment and it forces extra learning,” says Jack.
All in all, there is not one standard punishment. This is clearly shown in the article above with Ethan and Jack’s disagreements. What do you think?
